Patty McCormick, owner of Bhakti Ayurveda LLC, was introduced to Ayurveda in 1994 and was at once intrigued by its ancient commonsense wisdom that empowers self-healing. She graduated as a Certified Ayurvedic Practioner from Kanyakumari Ayurveda Education Center and did clinical training at the International Academy of Ayurveda in Pune, India. She teaches Ayurveda classes on a variety of topics in addition to providing consultations for individual clients. She also guides clients through seasonal cleansing and rejuvenation procedures.

Empowering people through self-knowledge and practical tools is the essence of Patty’s passion for Ayurveda. Embracing seasonally appropriate foods and lifestyle practices reconnects students with the primal memory of a time when human beings lived in harmony with nature’s rhythms. Patty has an eclectic background, having worked as an educator, surgical technician, massage therapist, and music therapist.

Their members, Velga Dunis, Sumner Matteson, Jim Powell, Beth Wortzel and Maria Brandl began playing together informally at meditation circles, retreats and weddings. In 1986 they produced their first album chose the name, JAYA, which means spiritual victory. They have produced 8 more albums since then.
